In a nutshell the best and only way to improve the PageRank for your website is to get incoming links from websites that have a higher PageRank than your site. The PageRank is a mathematical computation that involves a ratio of incoming links and your PageRank vs their PageRank. So what are some ways to get links?
- Link Exchanges are frowned upon by Google so beware if you participate in one.
- Paid Links
- Submit articles you have written to various publishers for a link back to your site
- Comment on blogs
- Contribute to Blogs
- Have unique content on your site that people want to link to
- Submit your site to local Business Directories
- Submit your site to the Open Directory
I am sure there are other suggestions. Feel free to leave your suggestion in the comments here!

Several of my customers have asked for something they can do to increase their organic search engine placement. I tell them to ad content. The easiest way to ad content is to have a blog and post daily or at least weekly. If it is to hard for the client to set up their own blog, I can do it for them and then teach them how to use the software and get them up and blogging. Giving the Search Engines new content to catalog every time your site get crawled is a great way to increase the frequency of crawling as well as the placement of your site.
Just a thought…
