LinkedIn: Awesome Addition for Business

Posted by: Dotty | Comments (1)

I have been using LinkedIn for about 4 months. At first I was not too excited – but I did not get the big picture at that time. Now LinkedIn has become an actual resource in my business. It provides so many things like:

  • Ability to meet new people that your contacts already know
  • Ability to promote yourself and/or business to all other LinkedIn users
  • Ability to get business related questions answered
  • Ability to show your expertise by answering other peoples questions
  • and many more features

There were a few drawback though -

  • I could not export my contacts
  • Could not separate contacts into groups
  • Could not email more than 10 people at a time

These were my main complaints – but no more.

Check out this cool new tool that can be added onto your LinkedIn account. It is a contacts manager that allows manipulation of your LinkedIn contacts so they are way more useful. Here is a post in a forum where I learned about the Tool.

There is a run down of the benefits of this tool – all very positive and the tool is free!

For those of you that still have your LinkekIn website links labeled as My Website and My Blog check out my previous post to get that changed.

For those of you that have not completed your profiles you should read this post: Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile This post gives several ideas about completing your profile.

The LinkedIn Questions feature is a great benefit for members.  Here is an example of how to use the Questions feature: In Praise of LinkedIn’s Questions Feature – I have always received good input and have made new connections from the Questions feature.

In the post LinkedIn — the gift that keeps on giving – the benefits of a world wide network of professionals is explained.  Overall for a business professional LinkedIn is the Social Networking site that Works for You.
